At the 2019 CASE ASAP District 1 Conference, we want to
emphasize the hard work and problem solving required of our student-alumni
groups to realize their full potential.
Attendees will get out of their comfort zones and enter a challenging yet fun atmosphere. We envision that student-alumni groups will come together and share their championship mindsets and the paths taken to get there. When referring to being champions, we don’t necessarily mean defeating someone in competition; we mean overcoming where you’ve been and allowing your organization to grow. Champions will always face challenges, so even speaking on current struggles will be beneficial in finding solutions for success.
As your hosts, we will surely encompass the idea of what it means to be a champion through our keynote speaker, Jamelle Elliott. Elliott was a part of the UConn women’s basketball team’s first national championship in 1995; since then the team has won 10 additional national championships. Elliott will speak about overcoming obstacles and becoming a champion in and out of athletics.
We ask that you allow yourself to confront issues within your organization and convene with others to find solutions, while acknowledging the success that you’ve been able to achieve through adversity.
