1881 Series: What's on Tap - Supply & Demand - How Breweries are Keeping the Beer Flowing
Monday, November 7, 2022 | 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Online - Zoom
Huskies working in the beer industry have seen it all over the last few years. From pre-pandemic highs to mid-pandemic lows, to post-pandemic questions. It is safe to say that the supply and demand of a craft brewery over the past 2+ years has been more unpredictable than the crypto market.
While businesses may be back, the back-to-normal operations for these breweries has not been without its challenges. Without even talking to a local brewery, you could assess that the largest challenges for any brewery during the pandemic, and “post-pandemic” are: Consumer demand, staffing, and rising costs of materials (if they can even source what is needed). This discussion will attempt to shed some light on how 3 different breweries dealt with and continue to be impacted by supply chain woes, and challenges, how they are maneuvering inflation and demand challenges, and how consumer’s are driving changes within their own brewing schedules and marketing.
