February is now UConn Alumni Career month! The UConn Dallas Alumni Network invites alumni, friends and family to their first annual Elevate event on February 6th. Come learn and network with us as John Brady, Executive Director from Protem Partners talks to us about career growth and enhancing your intergenerational skills in the workplace.
This session is designed for professionals who lead and/or report to colleagues of a different generation and wish to enhance their interactions for improved individual and organizational outcomes.
What do Millennials, Gen X & Baby Boomers Really Need to Know and Do for Success?
Hype around Millennials in the workplace has started to eclipse substance. The focus has been on younger workers and what makes them so markedly different. While Millennials do represent the largest and most powerful demographic and psychographic wave to hit the labor market since the Baby Boomers, they are still a reflection of their predecessors and as such, not as alien as they are made out to be. Moreover, you can’t understand one generation without reflecting on the others with which they interact. We will net out for each of the three primary generations in the workforce what is similar, different, and how to engage one another for everyone’s benefit.
This discussion will help us to identify:
* Primary frames of reference for Millennials, Gen X, & Boomers relative to work
* Relevant ways in which each generation is similar and dissimilar
* How each can engage the other for mutual growth and professional success
Light food will be served and one complimentary beverage is included, this is a FREE event.
