In tandem with the
Annual Conference of the International Studies Association, the Office of
Alumni Relations welcomes you to join us for a discussion on the ever changing
landscape and discourse surrounding Climate Change featuring panelists Mark Boyer, Kristy Belton, Ph.D. '14, and Veronica Herrera.
Climate change defines our time, whether we want it to or
not.It impacts local communities in
direct and significant ways, but it is still perhaps the most global of all
policy issues facing the world today. From drought and fires to sea-level rise and
storm surge and the human impacts felt, climate change impacts are
pervasive. This evening you’ll hear three perspectives on
climate change and its impacts that range from water access and climate change
policy to the forced displacement of people. We look forward to engaging you in
this important discussion.
Joining this event will also be UConn's Interim Dean of the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences, Davita Silfen Glasberg.
Appetizers will be served and there will be a cash bar available. Cost is $10 per person.
