Homecoming 2018

Can I organize my own reunion?

If you are interested in gathering friends together during the weekend, we recommend you plan to meet at an existing event. If you’d like to plan your own reunion, please email Emily Auger Murray to learn more about how the Office of Alumni Relations can help.

Do I have to pre-register for all events?

Pre-registration is encouraged so that we can plan accordingly for each event, such as ordering enough buses for the tour, enough food for the meals, and t-shirts for the race! Walk-ups may be permitted, if capacity allows, for some events, but we encourage you to sign up now.

Where can I park? Is there a fee?

Friday events: Free parking in the Alumni Center lot is first come, first served. All visitors can park in the North or South parking garages, for a fee, open 24 hours per day. Saturday and Sunday events: Parking is free, subject to availability, in all parking lots on weekends. The North and South parking garages will be open, for a fee on Saturday and Sunday. Please see here for Parking Campus Map.

Can I bring my kids?

Children are welcome to attend the Huskies Forever 5K & Lil’ Huskies Kids K (which includes breakfast), followed by a Horsebarn Hill bus tour as well as Science Salon Jr. on Sunday, October 28.

Can I run with my dog in the 5K?

While we love our four-legged friends, we do ask that you leave them at home for their safety, and the safety of everyone else.

When is the football game?

The annual Homecoming football game is on Saturday, Oct. 27 vs. UMass at Rentschler Field in East Hartford, Conn. Stay tuned for game time and a special alumni discount for Homecoming tickets!

What should I wear?

Casual dress is acceptable for most events, unless otherwise specified in the invitation. Husky blue and white are always encouraged.

What else is open on campus to visit?

Be sure to visit the Benton Museum, have lunch in the Student Union, stop by the UConn Bookstore, or visit Storrs Center. A full list of places to visit on campus is linked on the Visit Campus page.

Where can I purchase meals, snacks, water, etc.?

The UConn Bookstore, Student Union and Storrs Center have snacks and beverages available for purchase.

I am traveling and need to stay overnight. What is nearby?

See the Visit Campus page for a full list of local hotels.

Do I have to register/check in at the Alumni Center?

Once you arrive on campus, all attendees are welcome to stop by registration at the Alumni Center for complimentary coffee and refreshments, and all the information you need for the weekend. Each event will have its own registration as well, where applicable, at the individual venues.

Will I know anyone else?

Not sure who else is attending? Invite your friends, former teammates, sisters, brothers, roommates, or lab partners to meet you at one of the events. Get a group together to run the 5K or offer to make calls to former classmates.

What if I need special accommodations?

If you need special accommodations during your visit, we are happy to help! Handicapped accessible parking is available in various locations on campus. For specific requests, please email Emily Auger Murray
